In the documentation, there is an “in-built chat” feature that I would like to enable for a marketplace I’m planning, however, I cannot find where or how to enable this. Is this a discontinued feature? Or can users configure WhatsApp to be used as a 3rd party messaging system?

Can you share whether you are planning to launch website or mobile app?
Initially, web only, but eventually we may add the App depending on how expansion goes.
Curious if there is a solution to this. We are thinking web only for now, but may expand to app if necessary.

From 2019 - 2023: We used to provide in-app chat on the mobile apps. As we have stopped supporting mobile app under monthly subscription, we are not planning to open that soon this quarter.
However, our partner network developer like @vignesh1 can support that for mobile app.
For Web
The same internally developed chat solution can be implemented for web but we have not able to finish in our development sprint due to other priorities.
Adding to that, we are thinking about integrating 3rd party chat solution like https://talkjs.com/ into our Premium Integrations (part of Growth Package). The reason is to double down our focus on core marketplace/commerce. And allow other unique cases like chat to be implemented from 3rd Party. (We are still on discussion about this approach).
Hence this is the status. If you are planning to subscribe to Growth package, then we can discuss about achieve any of the chat solution.
