Internal link option in page editor

I would like to see an option to make links in the page editor internal.

While navigating through links that are internal it opens new tabs. Just navigating through my policy links alone opens several new tabs. This would not be good for the user experience. Having the option to select or tick a box to set links as internal would be helpful.

Hi JK,
I have only just noticed there is a bug in this new enhancement. When clicking on the footer links, the page title and URL changes, but the page content stays the same. I am using the Link block for my footer links.
